Tesla North America will build ten new V3 super charging stations

Time:2019-10-29
According to foreign media reports, in the construction speed of the Superger super charging station, Tesla has fallen behind the previous target, but the company seems to be accelerating the deployment speed. According to reports, Tesla has confirmed that it will build 10 new V3 super charging stations.
The company‘s CEO, Elon Musk, said he hopes the supercharger network will cover "95%-100% of the population in all active markets." The previous goal was to build 18,000 super-charged piles around the world by the end of 2018. However, at the end of last year, their number of super-charged piles reached only about 12,000, and the current number is only 14,000.
The delay in the deployment of Tesla‘s super-charged piles is partly due to the fact that the technology of the V3 supercharger station is not yet ready. In March of this year, Tesla finally launched a new version of the super charging pile technology, which can increase the maximum charging rate to 250 kW.
It is understood that in the past two months, Tesla has more than 40 new stations entering the licensing application or construction phase (data from superge.info). At least 10 of the new stations have been confirmed to have the latest 250 kW V3 super charging pile. There may be more super charging stations using V3 technology in the future, as all details are not disclosed in the license file. Among the approximately 40 new power plants, some confirmed that they will use the V2 super charging technology, but there are also many possibilities that will use V3 technology.
